The potential of China's agribusiness industry

The emerging wealth of the large population of China is creating a shift in demand for more premium food products. This coupled with higher consumption of protein foods are putting tremendous pressure on farmland and water resources. There is unmistakably, a desperate need to maximize the farmlands’ potential not only through improving the productivity of land, but also through improving the quality of its produce. This entails maximizing efficiency at every stage of the food supply chain – from farms to chopsticks.

CAASS has enlisted the assistance of China Global to act as its international liaison. In that capacity, China Global has facilitated the recent meeting in Washington, D.C., with the top Chinese Ministry of Agriculture officials and the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to further develop the multi-billion dollar agribusiness between both countries. China Global is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the enormous economies of scale and efficiencies to be realized through the transfer of technology, capital and management to China. 900 million farmers out of the 1.3 billion Chinese population create a significant amount of China’s GDP.
